COLUMBIA, Md. - Officials have identified the suspected gunman in Saturday's shooting at The Mall in Columbia.
Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, of College Park is believed to have shot and killed Brianna Benlolo, 21, also of College Park and Tyler Johnson, 25, of Ellicott City.
The shooting happened at Zumiez, a skate shop on the second floor of the mall, where both Benlolo and Johnson were employed.
Howard County Police say Aquilar legally purchased a Mossberg 12-guage in December.
Officials are still working to determine the relationship between the suspected gunman and the victims, and also the relationship between the victims themselves.
Police said Sunday they had interviewed the victims' friends and family and still cannot confirm a motive in the Columbia Mall shooting. Detectives released Aguilar's photo Sunday afternoon in hopes of gathering any additional information others may have about his relationship with the victims.
It's believed Aquilar died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials said a search of a bag believed to be Aquilar's found inside the store revealed two devices that appeared to be an attempt at making explosives using fireworks.
