Whether someone forgot to lock the drive-thru window of the McDonald’s restaurant or left it open intentionally, the woman captured on security cameras knew an opportunity when she saw one.

"This suspect first reached in from outside the drive-through window, first, apparently to get herself a drink," said Sherry Llewellyn of the Howard County Police Department.

Once her self-serve approach netted a free soda, it appears the same woman decided to help herself to the rest of the restaurant, but that meant squeezing through that same tiny window with no small measure of difficulty.

"I thought it was funny really... trying to get in there," said a customer as he left the McDonald’s in question on Benson Drive.

"It was crazy like she squeezed through that little old hole.  Man, that's crazy," added another man in his company.

Even though her face had already appeared clearly on camera, the suspect returned with a large box of items---this time trying to conceal her identity by pulling her shirt over her head, while revealing a pair of buns of the non-McDonald’s variety.

"Think she wanted the diet food?"
"No,” responded one customer, “She wanted a sweet tea."

While the video has significant value to the criminal investigation, it is undoubtedly the entertainment value that has made the images must-see material on social media sites, and over the last 24 hours, the Howard County Police Department has been inundated with requests.

"There has been some significant interest in this video,” said Llewellyn, “I think it's not unusual that when something like this peaks people's interest, it tends to go a bit viral on social media.  So we've seen some requests coming in for additional information in this case from networks, national networks and otherwise, yes."

On a more serious note, police say if you can identify the woman who appears in that video, you may be eligible for a reward of up to $500.
