A woman was stabbed after an altercation in the woods in Aberdeen Monday night.

Police responded to the 100 block of Rogers Street for an altercation that reportedly took place behind a building formerly known as the Moose Lodge. Officers arrived around 9:30 p.m. to find 30-year-old Jean Peterson, who told police she’d been assaulted.

A second call was placed for a 35-year-old woman suffering from two stab wounds to the leg in the unit block of Howard Street.

That victim was taken to Christiana Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation determined that Jean Peterson was responsible for stabbing the woman. Peterson was charged with first and second degree assault and was taken to the Harford County Detention Center.

This incident is still under investigation.
