Timonium man charged in fatal hit-and-run

A 48-year-old Baltimore County man has been charged with a fatal hit-and-run that happened on Friday, May 5. 

According to police, a 45-year-old woman was found on the side of 1100 S. Philadelphia Blvd. around 5:50 a.m. Friday. Police said she was suffering from severe injuries. The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she later died. 

The victim was identified as Lisa Waters of Aberdeen. 

Witnesses told police that a vehicle struck Waters, then fled the scene. According to police, about 20 minutes after the accident, the driver of the vehicle called police to report he struck something on S. Philadelphia Blvd. Police identified the driver as Bradley Piern of Timonium. 

According to investigators, Waters was trying to cross S. Philadelphia Blvd. during a heavy rain downpour. She was then struck by a 2015 Buick Regal, drive by Piern. Police said Piern was under the influence of alcohol. 

Piern has been charged with vehicular manslaughter under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter impaired by alcohol. He was also cited with failing to stop at an accident involving death and failure to return and remain at the scene of an accident with death.
