Edgewood man arrested for assualt

Woodfolk says his assaulter was ex-wife's husband

BELCAMP, Md (WMAR) - David Woodfolk, 35, of Belcamp avoided a fired shot on Tuesday night, but didn't avoid getting struck in the head with a handgun.

Woodfolk told police that his ex-wife's husband, David LaMont Gregg, of Edgewood struck him with a semi-automatic handgun.

A Harford County Police report says that Gregg went to Woodfolk's home to drop off Woodfolk's two children.  He reportedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Woodfolk's head.  The two began to wrestle and fell to the ground.  Woodfolk says he heard a shot fired and saw Gregg fleeing toward Rt 543.

Woodfolk was bleeding from a head injury, but refused medical treatment.

Police went to Gregg's home in Edgewood and found that he had a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  He was treated at the scene and flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.  He was later released.

After returning home he was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in the commission of an assault, carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.

He is being held without bond.
