CLARKSVILLE, Md. - Howard County Police are warning people that checks have been stolen out of mailboxes in at least two areas of the county.
Seven cases of mailbox thefts have been reported since October of last year with the most recent case on January 14th.
The thefts have happened in Laurel and Clarksville, and police say in some of the cases, there was mail thrown on the ground near the mailboxes.

In the mean time, people in the area are being encouraged to send anything with a check in it at the post office.
