4 kids ages 9 to 14 charged in Aberdeen playground arson

Police have charged kids in connection to a fire that destroyed a playground in Harford County earlier this month.

Authorities said four juveniles ages, 14, 13, 10 and nine intentionally started the fire on August 18. The fire caused $120,000 in damage to the Aberdeen playground. Ten firefighters responded from the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department and contained the blaze within 10 minutes.

Each juvenile was charged with first-degree malicious burning and malicious destruction of property.

All four juveniles have been released to the custody of their respective parents pending actions by the Harford County Department of Juvenile Services.
