Edgewood man arrested on synthetic pot charges

KILLINGLY, Conn. (AP - Connecticut State Police have arrested two men on charges of possessing about 22 pounds of synthetic marijuana.

The Bulletin reports Police say the driver, Hassan Khalid of Andover, Minn ., allowed police to search the car in Killingly on Saturday. Police say they found the synthetic marijuana individually packaged for sale in about 1,300 bags. Police value it at about $20,000.
 
Police also say they found $3,000 in cash.
 
Passenger Waseem Ahmad of Edgewood, Md., also was arrested.
 
The two men were each charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. They are being held on $75,000 cash bond and are to be arraigned April 17 in Danielson Superior Court.
 
   It was not known Sunday if they are represented by lawyers.
