Dogs, choppers search for armed bank robber

FALLSTON, Md. -

Helicopters and police dogs canvassed Fallston Monday looking for an armed bank robber dressed as a construction worker.

Maryland State Police responded to the BB&T Bank at 1911 Belair Road just before 11 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

When officers arrived, witnesses told them that a man wearing a construction vest and hard hat ordered everyone to the floor and took cash out of the teller's drawers. He then fled on foot traveling north on Belair Road toward Fallston Common Drive.

The suspect was described a white male, approximately 5'10" to 6'0", stocky build wearing a white hard hat, yellow and orange safety vest, gray sweat shirt, faded blue jeans, carrying a black duffel bag.

Police conducted an extensive air and ground search but were unable to locate the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
