A rape investigation is underway in Harford County after a woman was allegedly attacked by a man she met online.
Just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday officers were called to Carol Avenue. Once on scene officers found a woman who alleged she was raped and robbed at knife point.
The victim explained she arranged a meeting with a man she met on Backpage, an online classified website. After arranging the meeting the victim walked towards Carol Avenue. Once she got there the victim was approached by the alleged male suspect, wearing a gray jacket and facemask. The suspect placed a knife to the victim's right side and took her to a nearby property, where he raped her at knifepoint. The suspect took money from the victim before he fled.
A K9 search of the area came up negative in locating a suspect.
The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital.
