EDGEWOOD, Md. - Police are investigating two stabbings that happened just two miles apart in Edgewood overnight.
The first stabbing happened just before midnight on Candlewood Drive. A release issued by the Harford County Sheriff's Department says they found a Baltimore man who said several people chased him. Then, when they caught him, the pursuers started kicking and punching him.
The victim said at some point during the incident, someone stabbed him in the back. The atttackers also took the man's wallet.
Medics treated the man at the scene and took him to Johns Hopkins Bayview. He is expected to survive.
About an hour later, just before 1 a.m., deputies arrived on Grempler Way and found a man sitting on the front steps of a townhome bleeding from the stomach. Medics started treating the man for a stab wound and the State Police flew him to Shock Trauma. The man is in critical condition.
Deputies don't know if the stabbings are related. The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives are investigating whether or not there is a link between the stabbing on Candlewood Drive and a homicide on nearby Meadowood Drive the previous night, a sheriff's office spokesman said.
