A Hagerstown woman faces a litany of charges for allegedly biting several Frederick police officers after a traffic stop.

Brittaney A. Ford of Hagerstown faces charges including second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order of a law enforcement officer and obstructing and hindering a police officer. She was also charged with traffic citations and a civil citation of the possession of marijuana less than 10 grams, police said.

Police said Ford was pulled over for failure to obey a traffic control device at Rosemont Ave and Wilson Place. Officers smelled marijuana coming from her car, and ordered her to get out.

She refused and began screaming and kicking the officers, attempting to bite them several times, police said.

Officers were able to safely remove her from the car and place her under arrest without further incident.

Police said while under arrest, Ford placed something in her mouth and attempted to eat what officers suspected to be drugs.

It was later determined to be marijuana .

A search of Ford's vehicle revealed a smoking device and a marijuana grinder, police said.  Ford was taken to the Frederick County Detention Center for processing.
