"A lot of valuable tools and equipment in here," Det. Troy Lowery with the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Department said.

He is describing the scene where James Collicchio was reported missing from in November of 2013. It was two months before in September that Collicchio was last seen alive by anyone.

Collicchio, described as a hermit by many, was living inside this commercial storage unit on 4-H Park Road in Queenstown. Neighbors say he hoarded cats.

Lowery said he had a couple dozen feral cats that he fed and that did not sit well with some neighbors.

"Yeah, I would say there was an ongoing feud with one neighbor in particular about the hoarding of the cats due to the smell and mess they would leave," he said.

Detectives don't know if that dispute led to his disappearance, but what they do know is Collicchio did not leave on his own terms. The unit was left unlocked.

"Both vehicles are here, that's the only vehicles he had. He road his bicycle, his bicycle was in the unit," he said.

The last time police saw any activity from his phone or bank was in the first week of September of 2013. Search teams covered a large area of the property, by ground and by air, but never found Collicchio.

"Somebody out there knows something they are not sharing with us and hopefully we'll be able to find out what that information may be sooner than later," Lowery said.
