HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Police have identified the dead man found along a road in Carroll County in a suspected murder.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined Prakash Rampatsingh, 50, of Hanover, Pa., was killed by a gunshot wound.
Maryland State Police say workers found a man Friday morning along Falls Road in Hampstead near a gated access road that leads to a cell phone tower.
Officers searched the area, but couldn't find any weapons. The victim frequently traveled Falls Road to and from Baltimore, however there were no vehicles belonging to Rampatsingh in the area.
Further investigation led detectives to believe that Rampatsingh wasn't in the spot he was found for long. Police are trying to figure out when he was last scene alive.
Rampatsingh leaves behind an estranged wife and teenage children.
