Pa. man charged with choking girlfriend with a phone cord

WESTMINSTER. Md. - A 50-year-old Hanover, Pa. man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly attacking his girlfriend and his daughter, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said.

According to the sheriff's office, Jeffrey Allan Hacker Sr. was found in the front yard of his 51-year-old girlfriend's home, located in the 4500 block of Salem Bottom Rd. in Westminster choking the woman with a phone cord.

The sheriff's office reported that deputies were able to subdue Hacker and take him into custody. Deputies also reported that Hacker had broken into the victim's house while she was not home, waited for her and then attacked her and her daughter once they arrived.

Both victims received minor injuries as a result of the assault and were taken by ambulance to Carroll Hospital Center where they were treated and released. Hacker also received injuries sustained during the attack and was treated and released. He was subsequently jailed and held without bond on charges of first- and second-degree assault, first- and fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, reckless endangerment and harassment.
