Man shoots process server in Westminster

A civil process server was shot at while trying to deliver paperwork to a Carroll County man, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Christian Shenk, 41, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, use of a firearm/crime of violence, reckless endangerment and first-degree assault after firing shots at the victim’s car, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Salem Bottom Road in Westminster.

The victim told deputies that Shenk told him to leave the property after he identified himself as a process server. He watched as Shenk left his garage with what appeared to be a rifle, and as he got into his car to leave, he heard several gun shots.

There were several holes left in the victim’s car from the shots, deputies said.
