Carroll County Sheriff’s office detectives along with the Office of the State Fire Marshal, charged 69-year-old Robert Schech Sr. with the fire related death of Donna Schech.
Fire officials responded to the 2600 block of Hoffman Mill Road for a house fire around 1:30 a.m in November.
Investigators determined that multiple fires were set inside the residence, which prevented the victim from escaping the home.
Donna Schech died of heat and smoke related injuries.
Robert Schech was taken into custody Friday, and charged with first-degree murder, arson, and many other charges.
