Early morning police chase through several counties finally yields in the arrest of drunk driver

A 28 minute long police chase finally comes to end after suspect is apprehended. 

At around 12:26 a.m. Maryland State Police’s Westminster barrack received a tip that a car fled Sheriffs Deputies from a domestic dispute.

Around 12:34 a.m. “stop sticks” were used in an attempt to stop the suspect from fleeing. The passage side tires were blown, but despite that the suspect continued to keep driving.

At one point during the chase, the suspect intentionally collided his vehicle with Corporal Myers’ initially disabling it.

The chase continued into Baltimore County with officers from Carroll County, Westminster and Baltimore City following the suspect.

The chase came to an end when the suspect stopped on Statewood Drive in Reisterstown in a cu- de-sac where he exited the car and began to run on foot.

The suspect was finally apprehended around 12:54 a.m. after resisting arrest and threatening police and himself.

The driver, Ali Reza Esna-Ashari, 39, of Reisterstown has a slew of pending charges ranging from 1st degree assault, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest, to driving under the influence of alcohol. 

The Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office has been consulted and the investigation is still ongoing.
