Arrest made in Carroll County bank robbery; second suspect sought

NEW WINDSOR, Md. - A 54-year-old Union Bridge man has been arrested and charged in connection to bank robbery Tuesday in Carroll County.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said Jeffrey Barry Thompson was arrested around 11 p.m. Tuesday night at the Motel 6, located at 1401 Bloomfield Ave. in Baltimore. Thompson allegedly confessed to police that he robbed the New Windsor State Bank, located on the 200 block of Main Street.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Thompson said a second suspect, identified only as "Deanna", drove him from Baltimore City to the bank to commit the robbery. She is suspected of robbing the same bank on Sept. 18 when Thompson acted as the driver of the getaway vehicle.

Thompson was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit theft of less  than $1,000, two counts of theft less than $1,000, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of robbery, two counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Carroll County Sheriff's Office Detectives are following up on leads to identify "Deanna." Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carroll County Sheriff's Office at 410-386-2900.
