Man, woman arrested in string of burglaries in Westminster

Carroll County Sheriff's deputies arrested two suspects in connection with a string of burglaries in Westminster Friday. 

Around 7 a.m. on July 14, deputies took Aaron Carl Thomas,23, of Westminster into custody. 

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Thomas was listed as a person of interest in at least six incidents involving malicious destruction of property, burglaries and theft in the area of Cranberry Road. 

During the investigation, it was revealed that Thomas and a woman, later identified as Melissa Ann Hartless, 25 broke into and were living in an abandoned townhome near Alymer Court. 

Both Thomas and Hartless were taken to Carroll County Central Booking and charged with the following: 

THOMAS:

  • Burglary, 1st degree (6 counts)
  • Burglary, 4th degree (1 count)
  • Theft (6 counts)
  •  Malicious Destruction of Property (2 counts)

HARTLESS:

  •  Burglary, 1st degree
  •  False Statement
