On October 31, 1985, Bernie Casson went missing. She was seen with an unknown man around noon that day, then the next time she was seen, she was dead.

Casson, 60, lived on Earls Road in Middle River. She left her house on Halloween, and was seen with a white man described as 20 to 25-years-old with dark hair and a mustache. Later, her green Plymouth Valiant was found with a flat tire at Earl's Bar on Bird River Road -- but she was not known to frequent that bar.

Before she disappeared, Casson cashed three inheritance checks worth $15,000. There were several men who were doing work on her property as well, some of whom have not been identified. One of the men drove a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with writing on the side.

Casson's family reported her missing on December 6 of the same year, and police found her just before 3 p.m. that day. Her body was in a shallow grave behind her home; she was covered in dirt, trash bags, wood and insulation with blunt force trauma to her head.

Police don't know who killed her, and now they need your help. Call police at 410-307-2020 with any information about her case. You can also call Metro Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
