Timonium man to serve five years for distribution of child porn

TIMONIUM, Md. - A Timonium man was sentenced to five years in prison for distributing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Baltimore said.

Thomas Warren Stickney, 22, will also serve 25 years of supervised release after he gets out  of prison. U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz also ordered him to register as a sex offender where he lives, where he works and where he is a student under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

According to Stickney's plea agreement, on Dec.13, 2012, Stickney sent an image and video depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct to someone online. That person reported the incident to Baltimore County Police detectives.

Pretending to be that person, a Baltimore County detective communicated with Stickney and requested another video, which Stickney supplied.

Stickney asked the detective to meet him for sex. When the detective told Stickney he would have to drop off his young nephew first, Stickney suggested that the detective bring his nephew along so they could engage in sexually explicit conduct with him.

Stickney was arrested when he arrived at a local motel for the meeting.

A forensic examination of the laptop, external hard drive and other digital media seized from Stickney's home showed there were about 14,350 images and 203 video files of minors, including prepubescent minors, engaged in sexually explicit and sometimes violent conduct.
