An Edgewood man who was charged for setting two people on fire in 2015, has now been charged with homicide.

In 2015, Christopher Harrison Jr., 28, was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

On May 16, police issued a warrant for homicide charges after the death of David Campbell was ruled a homicide by the Chief Medical Examiner's Office. Campbell, 22, of Middle River died January 7, 2017.

The second victim, Shawn Scarinzi, 25, of Edgewood died early Monday morning, according to Baltimore County police. Scarinzi's autopsy results are still pending.

According to police, Scarinzi happened to be close by when Harrison attacked Campbell. He was not a direct target.

"There is no type of justice for Shawn," his stepfather Mark Daniel Lovich said. "There can't be enough justice for Shawn. So to go after Chris (Harrison), I hope they do, I really do, but it's not going to bring Shawn back."

Scarinzi's family set up a GoFundMe page to help with medical and funeral costs.

Harrison has been held at the Department of Corrections without bail since December 2015. He entered a guilty plea in 2016 for the following charges:

  • First degree Assault
  • Reckless endangerment

The incident is still under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes unit.
