Second suspect identified after couple carjacked, allowed to rescue infant

A second suspect in an armed carjacking on Sunday has been identified.  

Police said Michael Frederick Powell, 21, has been charged with armed carjacking, two counts of armed robbery, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, and more.

Powell was arrested after a couple in Essex said they were in their car in front of their apartment when armed men threatened them and asked for their car. The couple begged to be able to take their infant son out of the car first. 

The suspects let the family take out their baby and groceries before stealing the car.
