TOWSON, Md. - A retired Baltimore County Fire Department captain was arrested and charged with sexual offenses against a minor.
Gregory Hudnet, 64, of the 18200 block of Foreston Road in Parkton surrendered at Precinct 6/Towson shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday. He posted $750,000 bail and was released.
Police said the victim filed a police report Aug. 22 documenting sexual abuse that had occurred between 2005 and 2008 at various locations throughout Baltimore County.
The victim reported being in the early teens when being sexually abused . The victim did not tell anyone about the abuse until this year.
Police added that on Sept. 18 they obtained a warrant for the defendant charging him with sexual abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, and sexual abuse of a minor - continuing course of conduct.
Hudnet began with the fire department in 1972 and retired from the fire department in 2008. To many, Hudnet is a well-known Ravens fan who often appears at local parades and festivals decked out as "the Baltimore Birdman" while bringing along his Ravens and Orioles themed classic cars.
