Baltimore City police sergeant arrested in prostitution sting

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. - EDITOR'S NOTE: The original version of this story listed the name of a fourth person arrested in the case. This article has been edited to remove that man's name. The case against that individual was dismissed in District Court of Maryland for Baltimore County on Monday, July 21, 2014.


A Baltimore City police sergeant is among four people arrested in a prostitution sting in Baltimore County.

County police conducted an investigation on Wednesday night with undercover detectives posting as prostitutes.

They arrested Kevin Lamont Simmons, 40. He is a sergeant with the Baltimore City Police Department.
County police say they notified the City police department about the arrest.

Three other men were also arrested, including Trevor William Joseph Barnes, 44 and Mark Kane, 48.

Kane is also facing drug charges.
