OVERLEA, Md. (WMAR) -
Baltimore County Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting of an off-duty officer in Overlea as he asked a group of people to move.
Police have confirmed that two rounds were fired from the gun of an unidentified officer who was shot in the Overlea area during the early morning hours of December 9.
Investigators have not yet determined the context in which the weapon was fired.
Investigators have confirmed that the officer encountered a crowd of people blocking the street as he was driving near Dale Avenue and Danville Road, was not shot with his own weapon. He did suffer non-life threatening injuries.
The officer was on his way home at the time of the shooting and was not involved in the house party that produced the crowd of people.
Police have not released the officer's identity siting safety concerns as the suspect remains at large.
