Police identify suspect in hatchet attack

Baltimore County Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect who attacked two people with a hatchet on Saturday night.

Travis Jay Hunt, 22, has been identified as the suspect in the attack in Middle River. He is wanted for attempted first-degree murder, assault, armed robbery and more.

The suspect and a woman were watching TV at a house on Wampler Road when he attacked two people in the home. The hatchet and a woman's purse were found near the house. $150 was missing from her purse.

Both victims are alright.

Police and a relative of Hunt's found him at a house on Grovethorn Road. When they arrived, Hunt cut his neck with a knife, fell and dropped the knife, then tried to grab the weapon again. 

Before he could get to it, the officer shot him once. He's currently in critical but stable condition at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
