NOTTINGHAM, Md. (WMAR) -
UPDATE: Police have taken the man who barricaded himself in his home into custody. The man is being taken for emergency evaluation and may be facing criminal charges following an investigation.
Baltimore County Police and Fire crews are handling a barricade situation at a home in Nottingham.
According to Lieutenant Robert McCullough, spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police Department, the fire department responded to a home in the 4100 block of Link Avenue for a report of a fire around 6:15 p.m.
Fire crews were able to extinguish a fire in the yard of the home, but a man who lives there ran back into the house.
When firefighters attempted to talk to the man, they noticed firearms, police say.
The man then "barricaded himself in the house and has refused to come out," McCullough says.
Police are on the scene and attempting to speak with the man.
