Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a tattooed burglar who has robbed several homes in Parkville.
The burglar was caught on surveillance footage at a home in the unit block of Meadow Bank Court in Parkville on September 18th. He entered the home through an open window on the second floor around 11 a.m. Police say he was also caught on an interior surveillance camera but put it in his pocket along with taking cash and credit cards from the home. Police say he also destroyed the exterior camera.
"Over about a month's period of time, we've had nine burglaries that we can link him to," said Officer Jennifer Peach with the Baltimore County Police Department.
The suspect, described as a thin black male with tattoos running down his right arm and another on his left arm, is believed to be responsible for several burglaries in the same area, mainly in neighborhoods off of Seven Courts Drive.
"The majority of his crimes have been committed sometime during daylight hours maybe from about 10 o'clock in the morning to 3, 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Usually, when it's expected that residents are not going to be home," said Officer Peach.
The suspect is believed to have entered the residences through unsecured windows and doors in the rear of the homes.
A neighborhood resident told ABC2 that the burglaries influenced him to purchase surveillance cameras. Others are being told to keep a watchful eye.
"The association, I guess, we all got together and we are just going to keep an eye out for our neighbors basically and if anybody's home during the day, sees something suspicious, call the police," said Rose Agostini, president of The Courts of Willow Pond Neighborhood Association.
She added that it's an uptick in crime for a normally quiet neighborhood.
"Extremely unusual. We may have had a few break-ins but I've been here 22 years, I can probably count on one hand how many times that's happened," said Agostini.
