Police investigating theft of more than $500,000 worth of cognac in Rosedale

ROSEDALE, Md. - Baltimore County police are investigating the theft of more than $500,000 worth of cognac in Rosedale.

At approximately 4:58 a.m. on March 16, police said someone entered a fenced-in parking area of ServeU in the 7000 block of Quad Ave. in Rosedale. The suspects then broke into a white 2001 Freightliner truck with "Hale Trucking" on the door of the cab.

The truck was then hooked up to a cargo container on a trailer. The trailer was yellow in color with MSC on both sides. Police said there were 2,142 cases of Hennessey Cognac worth $514,000.

Police said the suspects cut the lock on a gate and fled the scene with the truck and trailer. The truck and trailer were recovered on Tuesday at Monroe and Mulberry streets in Baltimore City. The cognac had been removed from the trailer..
