Police investigate reports of shooting in Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. - Baltimore County's Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating a possible shooting in Dundalk, reported Friday evening at around 4:40 p.m., according to a release.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of St. Helena Avenue in Dundalk for reports of gunshots and banging noises in the area. But officers were unable to locate a victim or witnesses, the release goes on to say.

Baltimore City police contacted the unit to advise officers of a man who checked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The release states:

"There are very few details at this time. Baltimore County Violent Crimes Unit detectives are actively investigating the case at this time. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

 "The Baltimore County Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to call (410) 307-2020."
