Baltimore County Police are investigating after a deadly home invasion occurred overnight in Rosedale.
Police say they're looking for several suspects after this brutal crime in a normally quiet neighborhood.
"They committed some really violence crime, two shootings and a very brutal assault and then they ran away so we don't know why they did it. We don't know if they took anything but we're going to find out," Baltimore County Police Department spokesperson, Corporal John Wachter, told ABC2.
Investigators aren't sure how many people broke into the Rosedale home early Sunday morning But there's no question of the nightmare left behind.
"A 61-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, a 23-year-old man also suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body and a 61-year old man suffering from head wounds," Wachter said.
All were taken for treatment but the 61-year-old who was shot and lived in the home died.
"We're going to find out who did this and were going to bring the to justice," said Wachter.
Fred Limback has lived in the area for 12 years.
"It's a pretty quiet neighborhood there's not a lot of foot traffic because there's not a lot bus lines, single family homes, it's been kind of quiet."
Police aren't sure if this was a targeted incident, but neighbors have theories of their own.
"If someone comes in the middle o the night and they pick out that house and a group of people come in armed and start shooting in a residential neighborhood and they start shooting like this either they had some kind of vendetta or there to rob them.
A woman was also living in the home during the incident was not injured but was taken to an area hospital for a medical emergency.
Police say an unknown number of suspects entered the home before 3:30am Sunday, shot two of the victims, assaulted another and then fled the scene.
