OCEAN CITY, Md: - Ocean City police have arrested two suspects in connection with the Aug. 24 death a Pennsylvania man.
Caleb Edwin-Earl Ochse, 27, and Christopher Blake Kendall, 22, both of Ocean City, were arrested Tuesday and charged with manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment.
On Sunday, officers responded to the area of 109 North Atlantic Avenue for a victim of an assault that had already occurred.
Upon arrival, officers located Justin D. Cancelliere of North Whitehall, PA unconscious and unresponsive in the parking lot of an area hotel. After a thorough investigation, detectives determined the assault occurred during an altercation in the area of Talbot Street and Baltimore Avenue.
First responders initiated emergency lifesaving procedures on Cancelliere and transported him to Atlantic General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland has ruled the cause of Cancelliere's death a homicide.
Ocean City detectives with assistance from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Criminal Enforcement Team, arrested Ochse at his place of employment.
Kendall turned himself in to police at the Ocean City Public Safety Building several hours later.
