Men arrested in Overlea van shooting that injured toddler

OVERLEA, Md. - Baltimore County police said two men have been charged in connection with a March 3 shooting in Overlea in which a 2-year-old girl inside a minivan was injured by shrapnel.

A dark colored vehicle pulled up next to the minivan and someone in that vehicle fired several shots into the minivan. That vehicle then fled the scene, making a right turn onto Lillian Holt Drive.

Along with the girl and the intended male target, police said there were also a 40-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl in the minivan. The 2-year-old was struck in the head and face by shrapnel. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries reported during this incident.
