BALTIMORE - A man was sentenced to life plus 25 years in prison on Thursday for murdering a man in retaliation for a previous shooting, according to a news release by Baltimore State’s Attorney Gregg Bernstein.
On Sept. 30, 2010, Darius Sheppard, 34, fatally shot Arthur Peacock twice in the head in the 800 block of West Lexington St., Bernstein said.
Peacock allegedly shot Sheppard in April 2010, according to the release.
Sheppard’s prior two trials for the shooting ended in hung juries. His third trial ended when a jury found him guilty on Dec. 2, 2013 of first-degree murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a handgun after being convicted of a disqualifying crime.
