A Middle River man was being held without bail on murder charges Monday in connection with the December death of a 78-year-old man.
Daniel Albert Atkinson Jr., 46, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 78-year-old B.G. Ledford, according to Baltimore County Police.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Dec. 30, police were called to the unit block of Sparton Drive after getting reports of a cardiac arrest. When they arrived, officers found Ledford suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.
Ledford's ex-wife had come to check on him after family members couldn't get a hold of him. When she got inside, she found Ledford on the floor.
Based on their investigation, police said Atkinson allegedly stabbed Ledford multiple times inside the home after an argument.
The investigation is ongoing.
