Landsdowne ax murderer sentenced to life

A man who killed an 18-year-old with a hatchet almost two years ago was sentenced to life in prison Monday.

Larry Eugene Horton, 37, of Landsdowne was convicted of first degree murder for the death of Ryan Jackson on October 14, 2011.

Friends and neighbors told police they last saw Ryan walking into Horton's house. When police searched it they found blood splattered on the walls and ceiling and a bloody hatchet in the garbage.

The blood was later confirmed to be Jackson's.

Ryan's body was found in an abandoned field in Baltimore City covered with hatchet wounds.

Horton was arrested a few days later at a motel in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.  He had checked in under the assumed name "Anthony Gambino".
