An 11th grader at Kenwood High School in Essex has been charged with assault as an adult after pointing a gun at another student.

Shane Kaleipaihala Pule Jr., 16 of the unit block of Dogwood Road in Middle River, faces charges of first-degree assault and related charges. He was released on $100,000 bail.

Baltimore County Police said Pule pointed the .45 caliber gun at the victim, a sophomore, last Friday. Both him and the victim ride the same school bus.

At 3:46 p.m., the bus dropped both of them off at Elm Drive and Wilson Point Road, and the victim approached Pule to confront him about a previous incident.

Pule then got out a handgun from his backpack, and pointed it at the victim. The victim was not injured.
