If the rain hadn't driven people inside their homes in this community today, word of Monday's robbery might have.
Baltimore County police say a man walking in the area of Saint Regis and Framingham Roads didn't have a chance when several suspects targeted him for robbery.
"They surrounded him and demanded his property. After they took his wallet and his cell phone, they ran off," said Cpl. John Wachter of the Baltimore County Police Department.
But this robbery wasn't over just yet.
It appears one of the armed bandits suddenly had robbers' remorse over some other items of value that they hadn't taken at gunpoint.
"One of the suspects came back and demanded his shoes,” said Wachter. “When he refused to give up his shoes and he started to run, that suspect shot him at least one time in the lower body."
While cell phone robberies have become somewhat common in recent months, police say it's not that unusual for criminals to rip off high-dollar shoes or any items of value for that matter.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the Baltimore County Police Department is now looking for leads in this case, and they're asking anyone with information to call police at 410-307-2020.
Paramedics transported that victim to a local hospital so he could be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
