TOWSON, Md. - A pet store and a Baltimore County government building were evacuated Monday as authorities searched the Drumcastle Center in Towson for a suspicious package, which turned out to be a cooler.
A group of county employees huddled together on a corner in the 6400 block of York Road for over an hour.
Bombing sniffing dogs and police in tactical uniform were dispatched to the Drumcastle Center at about 4:09 p.m., police said. Two Baltimore County fire engines and an ambulance were also deployed to the empty Drumcastle Center parking lot.
An officer in a blast suit walked out of the center with a cooler in hand at about 5:30 p.m.
The neighboring Petco pet supply store was evacuated as a precaution. There were no injuries.
