TOWSON, Md. - Baltimore County residents now have a new tool in their crime fighting arsenal—dog walkers.
The Towson Area Citizens on Patrol (TACOP) launched Dog Walker Watch and is recruiting dog walkers to serve as an extra set of eyes and ears for Baltimore County police.
Dog walkers are a valuable asset to the community because they are out at all hours and know who belongs in the neighborhood and when things seem out of place. They just need to carry their cell phone and call 911 when they see something suspicious.
The new Dog Walker Watch will enhance TACOP's crime fighting efforts in the community. Working in partnership with the Baltimore County Police, TACOP's dedicated volunteers patrol the streets of downtown Towson and 25 surrounding neighborhoods. TACOP has effectively shown that crime prevention is a community effort.
