Boy found in Towson motel suffering from severe malnutrition

TOWSON, Md. - A 6-year-old boy found alone in a Towson motel Thursday remains hospitalized suffering from severe malnutrition, Baltimore County police said.

Police said they responded to a room at the Welcome Inn in the 8700 block of Loch Bend Drive Thursday for a report of an injured person. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the boy at the location by himself.

The boy, who police said was left alone for between two and five hours, was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

This incident is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crimes Against Children Unit and the Baltimore County Department of Social Services.

Investigators have determined the identity of the child and have spoken with his parents.
