Baltimore County police are investigating the murder of a 32-year-old mother after she was found suffering trauma to her upper body inside her Nottingham home, police said.
The murder happened in a quiet section of Nottingham, and police are asking for help in solving the crime.
Police have ruled out death by stabbing or shooting, according to a spokesperson, but so far, they don't know much else.
Questions still swirl, more than 24 hours later, in the Nottingham neighborhood: Who would kill a 32-year-old mother inside her home, and why, while her 4-year-old daughter was nearby?
"It makes you worry because it happened right across the street from my house," said Cathy, a neighbor who wished not to share her last name.

County police were called to a home in the 3800 block of Perryhurst Pl. just after 5 p.m. Thursday. They've identified the woman as May Ann Atilano Siason.
Family returning home found her inside, suffering from what police will describe only as upper body trauma. The shrieks of children were heard soon after.
"They saw their mother dead, so they came out screaming," Cathy said. "So you can imagine they're traumatized for life now."
Autopsy results for Diason haven't been completed. Police don't have a murder weapon, a motive, or even a suspect.
Neighbors said the family keeps to themselves.
"At this point, we don't believe this was a random act," said officer Jennifer Peach, a Baltimore County police spokesperson, saying detectives believed that because the woman's daughter was home but was found unharmed.
Furthermore, police haven't been called to the home before, said Peach.
"We actually need help from the public to give us any information they may have; anything they may have seen (or) anything they may have heard," Peach said.
Police took down crime scene tape in the neighborhood long ago, but the piercing screams of children are not forgotten.
"It just breaks my heart," Cathy said.
