Police have arrested and charged two people they believe were involved in a series of jewelry heists across Baltimore County, according to a release.

Robin Antoine Weathers and Robin Tracey Nelson were caught Monday morning at the Comfort Inn in the 5800 block of Baltimore National Pike.

Police believe the couple stole $25,000 worth of jewelry from Bijou Jewelers in Lutherville.

“The investigation into this incident has indicated that on May 13, a male and female pair entered Bijou Jewelers followed about a minute later by another male and female pair,” according to the release.”While three of the suspects distracted employees, the fourth took jewelry from a safe in the office. The theft was not noticed until after the suspects left the store.”

The couple was also charged with similar jewelry store robbery in Pikesville in September 2013.

"In that case, a male suspect and female suspect entered the Kaylah Designs store in the 1400 block of Reisterstown Road," according to the release. "The female suspect stated that she wanted to buy a ring. The male suspect asked to use the bathroom. He was later seen on surveillance video entering the jeweler's room. When the male returned to the showroom area; both suspects left the location. The employees discovered that jewelry was missing after the suspects left the store."

Weathers was additionally charged in connection with a jewelry store robbery in Parkville on January 16. He reportedly stole about $13,384 worth of jewelry.

The couple is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $450,000 bail. Police believe the two stole $40,459 worth of jewelry across the three heists.
