Police have identified the suspect in Friday’s police-involved shooting in Windsor Mill that stemmed from a car theft.

Dejuan Owens, age 23, is charged with 17 counts of first degree assault and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, police said.

Police say Owens crashed the stolen vehicle into three police cars and six other vehicles, then drove towards a police officer while fleeing.

Police say the officer who was injured in this incident has been released from the hospital.

All other occupants of the vehicle did not know the car was stolen at the time,  and have been released since.

Owens is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
