For Theresa, the pain is still raw.
Her daughter Tiona Smith was viciously murdered nearly eleven years ago.
"She woulda been 34 this year, January 21, 1982," Wooden, of Baltimore, said."It's not easy, losing a child."
On November 5, 2005, the 23-year-old had just finished her shift at a McDonalds in Cockeysville and was on her way home.
"It get better cuz I try to feel better,” she said. “But it still there, a part of me missing, that's a part of my heart, I mean, that's my first child."
Investigators say Tiona was waiting at the bus stop on the corner of Fayette and Eutaw streets.
"When she was at that location a small four door car occupied by three males pulled up to her, one of those males actually called her by name,” Cpl. John Wachter with the Baltimore County Police Department said. “She went up to the car, later got into it, that was the last time she was seen alive."
City Watch cameras captured glimpses of what happened. You can see Tiona at the bus stop, and the car on the street, then she's gone.
Her body was found the next morning in Woodlawn. Children playing on Fox Meadow Road made the gruesome discovery next to a backyard patio.
"She had trauma to her head and her upper body, this was a brutal, brutal crime," Wachter said.
It's a crime that has haunted police, as well as Tiona's family.
"That's the hardest part, trying to figure out why, why would they take her life," Wooden said.
The family is hoping after all this time, someone will help them find closure.
"Please, please ever who did it tell us, because if you don't tell us you will tell on the other side,” said Tiona’s grandmother, Louella Smith. “And it is not fair for you to run, you might run from the police but God know you cannot run from God."
Investigators know there were witnesses the night Tiona was killed, and that someone knows who murdered her. Officers are pleading for help to close this cold case, and bring closure to Tiona's family.
