A grand jury indicted two Baltimore County women last week in connection with the abuse of adults at an assisted living facility in Halethorpe.
Dione Griffin, 44, and 25-year-old Dijon Lee, both of Nottingham, have been charged with multiple counts of vulnerable adult neglect, reckless endangerment and related unlawful possession of prescription drug charges.
In addition, the grand jury indicted Griffin with one count of vulnerable adult abuse.
Investigators say the charges are related to the residents of Griffin's Loving Care Assisted Living Facility on Clyde Avenue in Halethorpe. Back in March, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene did a site inspection of the facility.
Griffin reportedly said all the residents were at the movies. Investigators say instead they were locked up in rooms in the house. Police say the elderly residents were tied to chairs and had moldy dentures. Also, the facility was licensed to host only four residents but had 16 people.
If convicted, Lee could face up to 19 years in prison and Griffin 24 years.
