Baltimore City police vehicle stolen in Catonsville

CATONSVILLE, Md. - Baltimore County police are investigating the theft of a city police officer’s unmarked car in Catonsville.

Police said officers responded at 6:41 a.m. to a home in the 300 block of Orley Rd. in Catonsville for a vehicle theft report. The city officer told investigators that his assigned unmarked police vehicle had been stolen.

He had parked the vehicle in front of the location at 10:30 p.m. Thursday and when he returned there the following morning, it was gone.

The stolen Baltimore City Police Vehicle is a silver 2014 Chevrolet Impala.

County police said there were now firearms or explosives in the car, but it did contain the following items:

  • Taser
  • Police radio
  • Three bags containing miscellaneous police equipment
  • Two magazines containing a total of 28 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition
  • OC spray (mace)
  • Police soft vest
  • Police riot helmet
  • SWAT vest

The Regional Auto Theft Task Force is conducting a follow-up investigation into this incident.
