Gary Watson usually home on Mondays, but on this day he's there and keeping an eye out.
"They said someone was coming through the neighborhood and and he was pulling on the doors and they said that he was bleeding from the arm area and left blood on a couple of the neighbors doors," Watson said.
A grim calling card for a man Baltimore County police are now looking for.
Neighbors complained he tried getting into at least 11 homes on Van Dyke Road in the last week.
"If he goes one place, he's going to keep on coming down the line and he's going to eventually make his way to me," Watson said.
County police say finding him will take a group effort.
"We believe that this person was probably from the general area. We think that if somebody sees his picture then maybe they'll recognize him," Officer Jennifer Peach, with the police department, said.
It's been the talk of the block for the last few days.
"My nephew said, 'Uncle Tommy, you don't take no chances.' It's 2017, people are bold and brazen. I just keep everything locked up even if you're down here," Thomas Williams, a neighbor, said.
It's a routine that if neighbors weren't doing it before, they're doing it now to protect themselves and their families.
"Most of the time, if I see something suspicious I always go around there and come back -- just to be on the safe side," Watson said.
Police here tell me they're led to believe this streak of attempted break-ins was a one time thing.
